The Alexander was one of three transport ships that set sail to Australia. It was also the largest of all the eleven ships. It was built in Hull, England in 1783. The ship weighed 452 tons and 114 tons plus the beam. It was made to carry 30 passengers, 29 crew and the Captain, Duncain Sinclair. Even though the Alexander was a transport ship, it still had cannons to protect itself.
